In Thanksgiving and Invitation - get to know us beyond the (occasional) newsletter

Published 5 months ago • 1 min read

Resolute would not be a success without our clients, friends, and advocates. Many of our newsletter subscribers bring us into rooms we're not in, share opportunities and wisdom, and bring encouragement and joy. We are thankful for you.

This time of year invites both introspection and gratitude. It also holds a tension between looking back and looking ahead, reflecting and projecting, learning and planning.

In the spirit of the season, we are holding ten spaces for newsletter subscribers to join us for a free, in-person, workshop on December 7th, sharing tools and holding space to support you in an intentional transition from 2023 to 2024.

The day is divided into two parts, with the option to stay for the whole time or step away before/after lunch. We know it's a lot to take a whole day out of the office, but the most frequent feedback we hear after reflection training is "I wish I had set aside time to actually do this!" We're addressing that - proactively - by inviting you to hold the time while the learning is fresh in your mind.

  • The morning session will focus on learning. From 9:30 to 12:30 we'll look at a number of different ways to review 2023 and plan for 2024. We'll move fast and go wide.
  • As our brains fill up, we'll break for lunch. Yes, there will be chocolate!
  • If you're able to stay for the afternoon, please do. We'll shift to "doing" from 1:30 to 4:30 - you'll have time to put the morning's learning into action, with coaching and consultation to help.

People often ask "Is this work business or personal?" That's up to you! The skills and models we'll teach can be used in either context and - for many of us - goal setting, values, and identity blur the business/personal lines.

If you're a current client or close friend of the firm, you will also receive a direct email invitation. Please excuse the duplication, and thanks for being a subscriber.

To claim your space, please use this link by COB on Thursday, November 30th. We'll follow up with calendar invites for the sessions you plan to attend.

In Thanksgiving for each of you,

Joanna (Hoffschneider) Kozlowski

I'm finalizing this newsletter on Good Friday. For me, this is always a Complicated Feelings Day. As a Catholic in the Ignatian tradition, Good Friday is a highly significant day in the liturgical calendar and my faith life. Whatever our traditions and faiths, we all have Complicated Feelings Days in our calendar - anniversaries, beginnings and endings, traumatic events and poignant celebrations. Today, I offer you some tips on how to manage these within your work life, and an opportunity to...

2018 to 2024... it's been an amazing ride! I told my mum that Resolute turns 6 today. Her response? "Really? That's gone fast." I wholeheartedly agree! We have some important gratitude to share: For our clients. We literally would not exist without the people who hire us! For our allies and advocates. These people don't give us money, they give us something at least as precious - they trust us with their reputations, endorsing our work and building our reach. For our partners. Working with...

I don't know if you've missed reading this newsletter? I've missed writing it. So, we're back! I've developed four guidelines that I think will support success: The newsletter will be somewhat spontaneous. Client work needs to come first. Breathing space needs to come second. And, of course, I don't always have something to say. So, you'll hear from me about once a month, but not on a fixed schedule. No excuses. Writing these is (usually) a pleasure, but after long gaps the shame gremlins...
